Physical Rehabilitation & Occupational Therapy

Physical and occupational therapy services are available to both inpatients and outpatients who have a variety of diagnoses. Physical therapy treats physical dysfunction or injury by using therapeutic exercise and other treatments to help people regain strength and functional abilities like walking. Occupational therapy assists helps individuals regain motor skills necessary to accomplish basic daily living activities, such as getting dressed, writing with a pen or holding small objects. Our therapies can also focus on sensory issues, coordination of movement, balance, and self-help skills such as cooking, eating with utensils, and grooming.

At Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, men benefit from a team of specialists in aquatic therapy, balance and vestibular therapy, lymphedema treatment, pediatric therapy, pain management, fall prevention, golf biomechanics evaluations, osteoporosis CARE program, urinary incontinence treatment, sport-specific training and injury prevention, and temporomandibular disorders treatment. In addition, our therapists are certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

We work hard to provide easy access to the highest quality of rehabilitative services at multiple locations and at various hours throughout Lake County. For information about our Center for Pain Treatment and Rehabilitation for those suffering from chronic pain, please visit our Anesthesiology section.

We offer a variety of appointment times to best fit our patients' busy schedules. Please call to determine the best appointment time for you.
