Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital's scheduling and staffing system encourages flexibility and aims to promote the balance between work and personal life for our nurses.  Our state-of-the-art system is web-based so staff may access scheduling both onsite and from home.  In this way, staff may view and submit requests for time off, as well as manage their time-balances.

This process was established by our Staffing/Scheduling and Recruitment/Retention Council, which oversees all staffing and scheduling practices for the Department of Nursing.

Our nurses can also take advantage of full-time, part-time and weekend staffing opportunities.  Our innovative PRN program allows nurses to express greater autonomy by self-selecting desired shift and improving control over their schedules.
