Speech Therapy
An individual may require speech language therapy as a result of a loss of an ability to communicate following an injury or illness, or possibly to correct a speech disorder such as stuttering. Women who suffer a stroke, a head trauma or who have cardiovascular disease may seek the help of a speech therapist.
Lake Forest Hospital provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for speech, language, swallowing, voice and fluency disorders. Our speech and language pathologists also are renowned for their capabilities in caring for patients with laryngectomies.
We also provide evaluation and therapy for adults who have neurological impairments following stroke, surgery or trauma, degenerative neurological disease, lost the larynx or tongue due to cancer, fluency (stuttering) problems, voice problems such as hoarseness, weakness or hypernasality, as well as swallowing or feeding disorders.
Services are available Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
If you have an appointment, please download our case history forms in the Hospital Forms section.
