We understand that challenges people face when their ability speak or swallow is disrupted by disease, surgery, congenital abnormalities or other causes.
Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for adults with disorders related to speech, language, swallowing, voice and fluency. Our speech and language pathologists also are renowned for their capabilities in caring for patients with laryngectomies (partial or complete removal of the larynx/voice box).
We also provide evaluation and therapy for men who have neurological impairments following stroke, surgery or trauma, degenerative neurological disease, lost the larynx or tongue due to cancer, fluency (stuttering) problems, voice problems such as hoarseness, weakness or hypernasality, as well as swallowing or feeding disorders.
