We know that helping children heal children requires special skills and unique training.  That's why we've designed our Pediatric Therapy services specifically to treat children with developmental, neurological, neuromuscular, orthopedic and rehabilitative needs.  In fact, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s Rehabilitative Services is Lake County’s most comprehensive and accessible offering of specialized rehabilitative services provided by licensed physical and occupational therapists.

Our individualized therapy regimens for children — developed in close collaboration with your personal physician — focus on improving your child's functional and developmental status both safely and quickly.

Center for Child Development (Pediatric Therapy)

At Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital's Center for Child Development, we work in tandem with your family's physician to ensure that every child from birth to 21 years of age with developmental, neurological, neuromuscular, orthopedic and rehabilitative needs receives the best possible diagnostic evaluation and treatment services.

If you have concerns about your child, our skilled therapists specialize in working with children with a variety of needs, including:

• Autism/PDD
• Cerebral palsy
• Developmental delays
• Fine or gross motor delay
• Head tilt (torticollis) or flat head (plagiocephaly)
• Low muscle tone (hypotonia)
• Orthopedic problems
• Sensory integration disorders
• Spasticity
• Sports Injuries
• Stiffness

Our mission is to serve as a resource for families and their physicians in the collaborative assessment of the functional and developmental status of each child, and to coordinate and implement therapeutic interventions to meet your child's needs.

Convenient Locations & Appointments

Six convenient locations at Lake Forest, Grayslake, Vernon Hills and Lindenhurst—hours that include early mornings, lunch, evenings and Saturdays—are available to our clients.  Use our Rehabilitative Services Location Chart to find which therapies are available at each location and hours of operation.
