Lake Forest Hospital wins fifth consecutive Consumer Choice Award

Lake Forest, Ill. — For the fifth year in a row, a consumer study by National Research Corporation (NRC) named Lake Forest Hospital the “Consumer Choice” Hospital for Lake and Kenosha counties.

“Our goal is to provide patients with compassionate, quality care close to home,” says Thomas J. McAfee, President and CEO of Lake Forest Hospital. “We are happy to hear that our patients see us as a hospital they can trust.”

Each year, the award identifies hospitals that health care consumers in over 300 markets throughout the U.S. have identified as their top choices. Lake Forest Hospital has won the award every year that the NRC has surveyed the Lake-Kenosha county market.

“Lake Forest Hospital is honored to receive this distinction for the fifth time,” McAfee says. “We are proud of our commitment to serve the health care needs of this community, and we are focused on advancing care in ways that will be most beneficial to local residents in the future.”

“Health care has become an increasingly important issue across the country and empowered consumers are making decisions for themselves and their families when selecting their health care facilities and services,” said Ginny Martin, President of NRC’s Health Care Market Guide Division. “These Consumer Choice award winners exemplify the dedication it takes to provide quality health care to their communities, and we are pleased to honor them through the eyes of their patients.”

Lake Forest Hospital has exemplified its commitment to the community by expanding its services over the past year. The hospital added four imaging centers and now operates the county’s most expansive diagnostic imaging network. The hospital also added vital emergency services to western Lake County by converting its former Acute Care Center into a new Grayslake Emergency Center which accepts basic life support (BLS) ambulance transports. The state recently granted approval to Lake Forest Hospital to open outpatient surgery and cancer treatment centers at the Grayslake Campus. Construction on the projects will begin this month.

Lake Forest Hospital is a 215-bed community hospital with 600 physicians board-certified in 68 medical specialties, conveniently located in offices throughout Lake County. The hospital has been named the “Consumer Choice” Hospital for Lake and Kenosha counties according to a survey by National Research Corporation for five years in a row for having the best doctors, best nurses, best image and reputation, and best overall quality.

The hospital’s mission is to provide communities the highest quality health care through exceptional access to state-of-the-art clinical services with compassionate and personal care. Clinical services are delivered at the hospital’s Lake Forest and Grayslake campuses, and at facilities in Bannockburn, Glenview, Gurnee-Brookside, Gurnee-Tower Court, Libertyville, Lindenhurst and Vernon Hills. At the main hospital in Lake Forest, exemplary care is provided in Cain Family Emergency Services, the Hunter Family Center for Women’s Health, the Posy Krehbiel Breast Care Center, the Waud Family Maternity Services and the Center for Advanced Radiation Medicine. CareCoach, Lake County’s only mobile health program, provides care for the underserved at 25 locations throughout the region. For more information, visit www.lfh.org.
