Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Names New Director of Acute Care Services

Lake Forest, Ill. – – Michelle Myers-Glower, RN, MSN, has begun her new duties as Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s director of acute care services. Her responsibilities include overseeing patient care services for pediatrics, outpatient oncology and inpatient acute care. She succeeds Claudia Ronayne, RN, BSN, who has assumed a new leadership role at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.

Myers-Glower most recently served as interim chief nursing officer/executive VP for nursing at Lincoln Park Hospital in Chicago. Prior to that she was director of critical care services at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie, Ill.

In announcing her appointment, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital VP of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer Kim Nagy, MSN, APRN-CNS, said, "Michelle is an experienced nursing leader.

Her past supervisors, physicians and peers describe her as an outstanding nursing role model, strong and effective communicator, team builder, and a visionary with outstanding critical thinking skills and a daily focus on clinical excellence."

In addition to her credentials as a registered nurse, Myers-Glower has a master’s degree in nursing from St. Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Loyola University.

She and her husband, James, reside in Glencoe, Ill. Her 28-year-old son is finishing work on his master’s degree at DePaul University this year.

In her spare time, Myers-Glower is active in Special Olympics and enjoys spending time in her rose garden, walking her dog on the beach in the morning and bicycle riding.
