The staff at Hematology/Oncology of the North Shore is extensively trained, dedicated and professional. Our Oncology-certified nurses are a direct link to patients and their family offering guidance, comfort and education. Our individualized treatment plans are based on a multidisciplinary team approach. Each team consists of experts including specialized nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and psychosocial oncologists. In addition, we work closely with physicians from other disciplines, including specialists in surgery, pathology, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, psychiatry and pain management. Clinical Research Patients are offered cutting edge therapies. They have access to the most advanced treatments offered in a wide variety of clinical research programs. Our special interests include targeted molecular and immune therapies as adjuncts with, or alternatives to, chemotherapy. We focus on identifying and caring for patients and families at risk. The practice is pleased to be collaborating with Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital in providing education and guidance to the public and medical staff regarding the identification and management of those with a genetic predisposition to various malignancies. Our focus is on addressing the special needs of patients and their families that may have increased risks of developing cancer.
