Local Area Farmer's Markets Open for Business



Experience the freshest, tastiest produce and more at your neighborhood market this summer

A great source of nutrition and inspiration this summer can be found at local area farmer’s markets. Today’s markets offer a broad array of fresh picked produce, as well as a growing number of prepared foods, wines, breads, flowers and even works from area artists.

Shopping at farmer’s markets offers many benefits:

  • You’re getting food that is grown closer to home and supporting regional agriculture and farmers in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.

  • Produce bought from farmer’s markets is fresher and often more nutritious.

  • You’re making a stronger connection to the food you eat by meeting the farmers who grow the food.

To help you take advantage of the local farmer’s markets this year, we’ve listed many of the area markets and their hours of operation for your convenience. Click on any city below to see what's available:

Barrington Farmer’s Market

Open June 18 through October 15. Market is held on Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m. and is located in the village parking lot at the corner of Main (Lake Cook Road) and South Cook Street. More information is at barringtonfarmersmarket.org.

 

Deerfield Farmer’s Market

Open June 20 through October 17. Market is held on Saturdays  from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is located in the commuter parking lot at the northwest corner of Deerfield Road and Robert York Avenue. For more information, visit deerfield.il.us/residents/farmers_market/default.aspx.

 

Didier Farms (Lincolnshire/Prairie View)

Farmstand opens in early July for vegetables and is located at 16678 W. Aptakisic Road (NE corner of Aptakisic Rd & Buffalo Grove Road), Prairie View, IL. For more information, visit didierfarms.com.

 

Glencoe French Market

Open May 30 through October 24. The market is held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located at Village Court between Park and Hazel Avenues.

 

Glenview Farmer's Market

Open June 27 through October 10. The market is held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is located across from Wagner Farm at 1510 Wagner Road.

 

Grayslake

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital is pleased to be the grand champion sponsor of the Grayslake Farmer’s Market, the oldest and largest evening market operating in Lake County. There are more than 50 vendors this year, featuring homemade and home-grown products, including fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, flowers, plants, shrubs, sweet and wine.

Many ready-to-eat foods are available, which means it’s possible to actually have dinner ready when leaving the market.  Plus, cooking demonstrations provide unique and helpful recipes for you to bring home. The market is also home to 20 artists and features a Munchkin (Youth) Market.

Gurnee Farmer’s Market

Highland Park Farmer’s Market

Open June 5 through August 28. The market is held on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located at Port Clinton Square on Central Avenue between First and Second Streets.

 

Lake Bluff Farmer's Market

Open June 12 through October 9. The market is held on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is located at the Village Green at Center and Scranton Avenues.

 

Libertyville Farmer's Market

Northbrook's "Our Lady of the Brook" Farmer's Market

Open June 24 through October 14. The market is held on Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located at 3700 Dundee Road.

 

Northfield Farmer's Market

Prairie Crossing Farm Market

Ravinia Farmer's Market

Wilmette French Market

Open April 25 through November 7. The market is held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located in the Metra Parking Lot at Central Avenue and Green Bay Road.

 

Zion Market Days
