Our Westmoreland Nursing Center, located on Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s beautiful wooded campus, provides 24-hour nursing care in a secure environment. This comprehensive nursing facility is a convenient option for individuals who need short-term care while recovering from surgery or illness, or for long-term nursing home care. Offering services that are personalized to each individual’s needs, Westmoreland provides skilled nursing services, adult day care, respite care, hospice, on-site physical therapy, and speech therapy, with access to all that Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital has to offer. We also offer a specialized dementia program, extended care program and osteoporosis screening. Specialized Dementia Program—Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital offers a secure and specialized dementia program, where personal independence and safety are our primary concerns. Our security system, special low beds, and a variety of mobility aids create a safe and secure environment for our guests. Regulating stimulation, mitigating disruptive behaviors, and creating opportunities to connect with others helps to maximize independence and cognitive health, while also offering families peace of mind.
Extended Care Program—Our extended care program is a Medicare-certified skilled nursing unit within Westmoreland Nursing Center that provides 24-hour care every day of the year to primarily and older adult population. Individuals staying here may have mobility problems that require use of a walker or wheelchair, may need help with activities of daily living such as dressing or eating, may require pain medication or other nutrients through intravenous treatment.
