2013 Relay for Life of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff

Get involved in the fight against cancer through the American Cancer Society's premier event that brings the community together. Remember those lost to cancer and celebrate the lives of those who have survived.

If you or anyone you know has been impacted by cancer, please join us for this special event held at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. We will also have a special tent and ceremony just for the survivors, with special recognition for caregivers, at 5:30 p.m.. Survivors, please contact Karline Peal at 847.535.6345.

What’s Next for Me? Changing Times, Changing Bodies

Taught by a nurse for Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, this class will provide accurate and concise information and assist parents in guiding their daughter through puberty and beyond. It will explore the physical, emotional, physiological and social aspects of what's normal and how to adjust to these variances in their lives.  Topics include:

  • Exercise
  • Healthy growth and development
  • Hygiene
  • Menstruation
  • Nutrition
  • Puberty
  • Self-image

This class is for pre-adolescent girls (9 to 12 years of age) and their mother or adult support person. The fee is $30 per couple and includes breakfast.

Please note: when registering, 1 registration refers to 1 couple, not 1 person.

Speech and Language Screening for Children

Not sure if your child's speech and language skills are on track?  Sign up for a free 15-minute Speech and Language Screening at the Audiology Department in Lake Forest or Grayslake.

We offer two options, depending on your child's age:

  • Ages 3 to 6: In-person screening by speech/language pathologist
  • Under age 3: Telephone consultation with speech/language pathologist
