Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Honors Organ and Tissue Donors

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital held Donate Life flag raising ceremonies in Lake Forest and Grayslake to honor organ donors and their families. Below are photos from the events on April 2 and 3, 2013. Learn more in the press release.

    Clinical staff, hospital administrators and other attendees gather at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital for a flag raising ceremony held April 2, 2013. The ceremony honored organ donors and their families. The Donate Life flag will fly for the month of April in recognition of National Organ Donation Month and to raise awareness of the need for more registered organ donors. Senator Julie Morrison and City of North Chicago Mayor Leon Rockingham, Jr. were among the attendees.

    Guest speaker Andy Trosper tells his remarkable story of receiving a liver transplant at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH). Trosper expressed profound gratitude to his liver donor and the donor’s family, as well as his medical team at NMH. Because of this life saving surgery, Trosper was able to attended two of his daughters' weddings in just the last 10 months and will welcome his first grandchild later this summer. Trosper and his wife Marsha also celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary the same day of the flag raising event.
