Aquatic Therapy
Few institutions in the region offer outstanding clinical expertise and specialized aquatic therapy—but Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital does both.
At the Lake Forest and Lindenhurst Health & Fitness Centers, we offer a range of aquatic therapies that can benefit such conditions as:
- Arthritis
- Decreased weight-bearing
- Fibromyalgia
- Joint replacement
- Low back pain
- Muscle spasms
- Neurological conditions
- Orthopedic surgery
Water has long been considered an excellent medium for therapy as it facilitates improved strength, balance, circulation, endurance, gait and flexibility with physical therapy treatments that might be too risky or stressful on land.
Our therapists determine if aquatic therapy is appropriate. We then design a personalized treatment plan to meet your needs. Sessions are one-on-one with the aquatic therapist and take place in water that is only chest deep, so any fear of water can be easily accommodated.
For a therapy appointment at any Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital location, please call Central Scheduling at 847.535.8000. Please email any questions you have to physicaltherapy@lfh.org.
